Why Callais is a Huge Ruling
Timothy Birdnow
The Callais ruling by the Supreme Court is far, far more important than we realize.
If the title of this column seems to exaggerate the potential impact of last week’s Supreme Court ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, it’s probably because most political pundits have focused on its effect below the Mason-Dixon Line. But the majority-minority congressional districts that will need to be altered pursuant to the Court’s ruling are far more pervasive than most realize. Ballotpedia, using data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 American Community Survey, estimates that these racially gerrymandered districts account for 148 seats in the House of Representatives. This is about one third of the House’s 435 districts and 122 of them are held by Democrats — more than half of their 212 seats.
Which means the Democrats will face a bloodbath in years to come as they will be shown as the minority party they always have been. The "razor thin margins" have always been an illusion.
The article continues:
This will be no small undertaking. According to Ballotpedia, the 148 majority-minority districts are spread across no fewer than 28 states. And not all of them have been mandated by the courts pursuant to the VRA, though the "experts” are curiously vague concerning exactly how many have been gerrymandered as the result of lawsuits filed by Democrat-aligned law firms. It’s probable that some majority-minority districts are organic, particularly in the southwest, and it should be remembered that the Supreme Court ruled, in Rucho v. Common Cause, that strictly partisan redistricting is "non-justiciable” by federal courts. Yet it is a little suspicious that over half of the Democrats in the House represent majority-minority districts.
It is even more curious that Democrats represent every single majority-minority district where black voters constitute the majority. Stranger still is the voting pattern of districts dominated by Asians. Is it plausible that not one Republican represents a majority-minority district in which Asians make up the majority? In districts where Hispanics and Latinos make up the majority of voters, there are a few GOP representatives, but most of these districts are represented by Democrats. And then there are the districts in which "coalitions” of Black, Latino, and Asian voters are dumped into single legally protected majorities. If the Democrats are reduced to this kind of skulduggery they’re done. Can you hear the fear from the ACLU?
This could wind up being a VERY big deal. Maybe not so much in the next election as down the road. Racial gerrymandering was one of the principle tools used by Democrats to acquire and hold power.

Starmer Blames Brexit for Economic Malaise HE Caused
Timothy Birdnow
Keir Starmer blames ever bad thing that happened to Britain on Brexit and Nigel Farage.
: "’I want to remind you what Nigel Farage said about Brexit. He said it would make us richer. Wrong. It made us poorer. He said it would reduce migration. Wrong. Migration went through the roof. He said it would make us more secure. Wrong again. He just fled the scene and now he will talk about almost anything other the consequences of what they delivered. He is not just a grifter, he’s a chancer.”
So typically leftist; blame the guy trying to save the country for what you yourself caused.
If Britain is poorer it's not because of Brexit but because of terrible economic policy advocated by Labour and the Conservative fellow travelers. If didn't reduce migration because Labour and the Conservative fellow travelers refused to enforce immigration law. I'm not sure how Stammer, er, Starmer thinks Britain is any less safe now then when it was part of the Euro-blob, but he just says it so it must be true!
As always with the Left he accuses others of what he himself is most guilty.
The British elites never forgave their people for leaving the E.U. and have been utterly determined to get them back in. They want to punish the citizenry by doubling down on the policies that drove the people to reject union with Europe in the first place.
BTW despite the Covid lockdowns and the vast economic damage done by Covid the British economy is about in the same position
as it was in 2015. despite a large loss from Covid.
The article states:
"Despite the economic headwinds of Brexit and COVID-19, the UK economy is expected to grow by four percent in 2021, and then by 7.3 percent in 2022. Much of this growth will be driven by the British economy returning to full strength after lockdown ends, which may be as early as Summer 2021 due to the UK's successful vaccination drive. This is in contrast to the rest of Europe whose vaccination response has been hindered by supply issues, vaccine hesitancy, and a generally slow bureaucracy."
And yet last year it grew at a pathetic rate, barely over 1%. Starmer and Labour are trying to pin the blame on Brexit but in reality it is because the socialist Labour party took over and has implemented policies that are ruining the economy. The public sees that, among other things, which is why Labour got creamed in municipal elections.
As Margaret Thatcher said, the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money. That's precisely what has happened in lesser Britain.

Minnesota's "Voucher" System
Timothy Birdnow
Oh, I'm sure nothing at all could go wrong with
this.
Minnesota allows someone to have another person vouch for them when doing same day registration rather than force them to provide proof of residency.
You just have to get someone to say "yeah; I know him and he lives here".
I mean, we all KNOW that nobody (except maybe Republicans) would abuse that system, don't we!

Democrats Plot Massive Fraud in November
Timothy Birdnow
Chuck Schumer has hired Eric Holder and Marc Elias (the man who masterminded the 2020 election theft) to run a campaign for "voter integrity" meaning he intends to cheat in the upcoming midterms and President Trump has called him out for this plot.
Trump said, in his usual fashion on Truth Social:
"Palestinian Chuck Schumer is hiring Eric Holder, famous for handing guns to Mexican cartels under the Barack Hussein Obama administration, as part of a Democrat-led 'Election Integrity Group' that will no doubt try to suppress Republican voters, and interfere in our Elections,"
That is EXACTLY what this is about. They will no doubt use lawfare, going to pet judges to suppress Republican votes or to allow polls to stay open late or any other dirty tricks they can pull.
Eric Holder was the self-proclaimed "wing man" of Barack Obama and he prosecuted political opponents of the BHO, plus was involved in all manner of shady things (like Fast and Furious and the "Russian collusion" hoax). Marc Elias is one of the most corrupt and just plain evil Democrats on this Earth who was behind almost every form of lawfare against Donald Trump.
Bringing these two together is rather like O.J. Simpson assembling his "dream team" to steal an acquittal.
And the GOP has shown itself feckless as ever and while Mr. Trump says we are ready for them I have my doubts. The current RNC seems to be just as bad as it ever has been.
I sure hope Trump's team knows what it is doing. They are in the NFL now.

Va. Dems Advised to Fire whole State Supreme Court
Timothy Birdnow
Power is all that matters to the Left and they will do anything to retain it.
Here is a proposal by a Leftist lawy professor to "fix" the recent state supreme court decision striking down Virginia's gerrymandered districts by simply lowering the age of retirement to 53, which was the youngest age of the justices who voted to overturn the constitutional amendment allowing the Democrats to gerrymander.
So basically they want to use a loophole - the power of the state legislature to set a retirement age - to fire entire supreme court and start fresh with a bunch of political hacks chosen by the Democrats.
Basically they want to burn everything down.
While this is a long shot and will likely not be done it's entirely within the sphere of insanity that dominates a party absolutely determined to seize and keep power at any and all costs.
This scheme would put this retirement age (down from 73) into action immediately if it is passed through appropriations rather than through the normal channels.
The author - Quinn Yeargain - is an Associate Professor of Law at the Michigan State University College of Law and 1855 Professor of the Law of Democracy, whatever THAT means.

Europe: a Continent of Children
Timothy Birdnow
The Europeans really are crying little babies.
Now that they have asserted themselves and told the U.S. they won't play with us they are crawling to their new bestie - Vladimir Putin.
This of course is utter nonsense and the Europeans should have been talking to Putin all along. It was THEY who wanted to get into this war in the Ukraine, not the U.S. They were the ones who made Putin out to be Hitler and Russia Nazi Germany. But now that the U.S. is rethinking our relationship with a bunch of erstwhile friends who won't stand with us even when it is to their benefit they are talking about a "separate peace" with the Russians as if that is going to frighten us.
News flash Euroweenies; we don't care. Russia is not the old Soviet Union and we no longer need a coalition to contain her. She's your problem, not ours.
At any rate there isn't really a story here; just an idle threat by Europe to "talk with Putin" something that should have happened long ago.
Europe is like a teenager trying to pretend they are grownups and angry when their parent tells them to take out the trash. They want pride in themselves but are completely unwilling to do anything to actually justify that pride. They are still entirely dependent on Daddy and angry Daddy still treats them like the spoiled brats they are. They waste money on democratic socialism and enjoy their lives while their benefactor works and provides for their safety. Juvenile through and through.

Enriched Uranium Taken Out of Venezuela
Timothy Birdnow
I had no idea whatsoever!
FTA:
WHAT HAPPENED: The U.S. Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) announced the removal of 13.5 kilograms of enriched uranium from Venezuela’s RV-1 research reactor. The uranium, which had been unused since the reactor ceased operations in 1991, was securely transported to the U.S. for processing and reuse.
DETAIL: Officials said 13.5 kilograms, or roughly 30 pounds, of uranium enriched above the 20 percent threshold was safely packaged and transported about 100 miles across Venezuela before being shipped by a specialized British nuclear transport vessel to the United States. The material arrived in early May and was transferred to the Savannah River Site in South Carolina, where it will be processed for reuse in advanced nuclear energy programs. The National Nuclear Security Administration described the operation as a significant nonproliferation success, noting the uranium had remained at the reactor since research activities ended in 1991. NNSA Administrator Brandon Williams credited President Donald J. Trump’s leadership for accelerating the mission, saying work that normally would have taken years was completed within months. The operation comes amid renewed diplomatic and commercial ties between Washington and Caracas following Trump’s ouster of Venezuela’s Marxist dictator, Nicolas Maduro.
While this had been sitting around for some time it could easily have been turned into a couple of nukes if Maduro had been able to further enrich it. This goes to show how nuclear weapons are possible for anyone with nuclear reactors.
I wonder; did Trump strike Venezuela and take out Maduro because of this? Did the intelligence community think they were about to pursue a nuclear device?
And if Venezuela was reasonably close to a bomb without even trying what does that say about Iran, which WAS trying?

First of all,
"enriched above 20%" says nothing. To be usable for a bomb it needs to be enriched far, far more than that. Secondly, 30 pounds is a miniscule amount, and the effort to package and ship it is trivial. The Savannah River plant will probably consume it in a matter of minutes.
Posted by: Bill H at May 10, 2026 11:16 PM (FRG6e)
3
It's possible Dana.
Bill, I disagree; enrichment from 20% to above 90 is far, far easier than the initial enrichment to 20%. The first 20% is the really hard and time consuming part. Most nations with a clandestine program will enrich to 20% for that reason but stop because they are staying below the level that triggers international treaties. According to the classifications 20% is classified as "highly enriched".
Yes, the amount they are removing is low, too low for a decent weapon. But the point is they had the capabilities to enrich uranium and there may be more of this (this is public record and would hardly give us the full estimated amount.) This is rather like finding traces of gasoline at a fire - it's enough to make the FD suspicious.
It's certainly enough to make ME suspicious, given President Trump ordered an attack on Venezuela and extracted the guy running the place.

Democrats Censorship Bill "For the Children"
Timothy Birdnow
When Democrats are talking about child safety you know they have a dirty trick up their sleeves.
So asking for an I.D. to vote is onerous and too hard a burden but demanding it to use the internet or a smart phone is just "protecting kids"?
Since when do Democrats care about kids? They murder them in the womb. They support
letting sex traffickers shlep them around the country. They have fought every privacy attempt the Republicans have ever proposed. They want pedophiles teaching them in our schools. They want men wearing dresses in their locker rooms and bathrooms. They were happy with illegal aliens stealing babies' social security numbers and ruining their nascent credit.
But now we are supposed to believe they want to keep our kids safe by forcing them to be i.d.'d to tech companies (who will either data mine them or sell their data or get hacked and LOSE it) and of course more disturbingly to be easily followed by the government. The government will wind up with this data in the end.
And they dare call it the "Parents Decide Act". Funny; they don't want parents to decide when it's about abortions, or contraception, or transitioning genders. But now it's all about the kids!
And while delineating the many things this bill will require the last I find most disturbing:
A trusted multi-platform standard that bans children from accessing what the government labels "harmful” or "explicit” content on any device made by any OEM on any software platform. On the surface, this can include adult content and conversations with AI chatbots, although "harmful” or "hateful” speech has taken on different meanings to the left over the years, usually to describe speech that doesn’t align with their views.
You know wahat that means; the government will set standards for what is "harmful" or "explicit" and that will mean any criticisms of lettist ideology. Blogs like this one will be "disappeared" and young people will not be able to access it.
This is clearly an attempt to backdoor government censorship.
The Left only wins when they ensure ignorance. Their ideas cannot win in a fair competition. This is just more of the same and I hope the Republicans have the good sense to kill this bill.

Obama Accuses TRUMP of Weaponizing the Law
Timothy Birdnow
The male doesn't have elephant balls; he's got blue whale balls!
The BHO had this to ay:
"The White House shouldn't be able to direct the attorney general to go around prosecuting whoever, The idea is that the attorney general is the people's lawyer. It's not the president's consigliere."
He apparently doesn't remember Eric Holder, his own Attorney General, referring to himself as Obama's wingman. He doesn't remember the bogus prosecutions of political enemies under Holder, nor his IRS chief denying tax exempt status to political enemies. It was HE and his people who started the lawfare that has led us to this.
Or Merrick Garland trying to imprison Donald Trump along with multiple allies of the President (and succeeding in doing so).
The really scary thing about Obama is I think he believes this when he says it. He is a pathological liar.
We know, for instance, that Obama was intimately involved in disseminating the hoax that Trump was colluding with Russia. He knew better but let lawfare play itself out anyway.
Mr. Obama
was a communist, joining the infamous New Party in Chicago in the '90's. He would later leave the organization, no doubt for tactical rather than ideological reasons.
And Mr. Obama never won an election fairly; he always found ways to clear the field (with accusations of corruption against his opponents) or just out and out cheated. His first election to the Presidency was probably the only fair fight the sniveling little weasel ever won.
Communists always use dirty tricks and vicious attacks. And they never tell the truth.
So now Obi Bam Balogna is out there pretending it wasn't HIM who weaponized the law but Mr. Trump. The DOJ is only investigating and prosecuting the crimes committed under Obama and his very brown nosed former Veep Joe Biden.
Of course the media won't remind any of us about that. Their noses have always been browner than Biden's.

Iran Pursuing Plutonium?
Timothy Birdnow
Remember, North Korea skipped using uranium for a nuclear device and went straight to the more difficult plutonium.
A while back I read a Union of Concerned Scientists report about how Iran was developing implosion technology for triggering an uranium bomb (which cuts down on the weight). The same technology works wonderfully for plutonium (and was the trigger for Fat Man, the Nagasaki bomb.)
If Iran has produced plutonium in secret..
FTA:
The concern is not academic. According to reporting by Benjamin Weinthal at Fox News Digital, Henry Sokolski, executive director of the Nonproliferation Policy Education Center and a former Pentagon nonproliferation official under President George H.W. Bush, has argued that Iran already possesses enough plutonium in spent fuel at Bushehr to fashion more than 200 nuclear weapons. The figure is staggering, yet barely registers in the public debate over Tehran’s atomic ambitions.
That blind spot is precisely the problem. Washington has spent two decades obsessing over uranium enrichment percentages, breakout timelines, and centrifuge cascades. Meanwhile, the mullahs have quietly maintained a parallel route to a weapon — one that requires no spinning rotors, no cascade halls, and no obvious enrichment signature for satellites to photograph.
Of course building nukes and testing them are two different things and the Iranians have not tested them yet (although the U.S. does virtual tests using computers and perhaps that may work for Ian as well.) So if they have nuclear weapons they can't be sure they won't be duds.
I wonder; when Iran fired thos missiles at Diego Garcia was that perhaps to test the delivery system? These bombs did not damage but proved such weaponry can go that far. I'm not sure of the weight restrictions of those missiles but I suspect they are pretty close to an implosing device weight - especially a plutonium device.
Fat Man weighed 10,300 lbs. Of course Fat Man was very primitive; no doubt our modern plutonium bombs are far more svelt.
The most
likely candidate was the Khorramshahr missile, which has a single stage and certainly couldn't carry that much weight. But the Israelis think it was a two stage rocket which would rule out the Khorramsahr.
So we do not know what they shot at our forces but it went a heckuva lot farther than we thought was withing their capabilities.
I wonder if this wasn't a dry run test.
The article continues:
Not every expert agrees the plutonium threat is imminent. David Albright of the Institute for Science and International Security told Fox News Digital he is "highly skeptical” Iran would actually use Bushehr’s spent fuel for weapons. He noted that Iran would need a plutonium-bomb design it has not developed, that any diversion would likely trigger Russia to suspend uranium fuel supplies and shut down a multibillion-dollar investment, and that most of the plutonium in Bushehr’s spent fuel is reactor-grade rather than weapons-grade.
But of course North Korea has this capability and would be happy to do it for them, no doubt. Also, anyone who thinks the Russians would suspend suspend nuclear fuel supplies in the middle of a war in which they need Iranian drones is smoking something besides the peace pipe.
The reality is Iran has the means, the motives, and has had the opportunity before now. We cannot base our policy on wishful thinking. Iran has played games with us to the point where we can't trust anything they say, and thus we have to assume the worst.
If Iran has no enriched uranium or plutonium then fine - but we have to act on the assumption they have it, just as George W. Bush had to act on the assumption Iraq had it based on Saddam's behavior. This is not something you risk.
Iran is rather like Kudzu; a nasty weed that you chop back and it just grows right back. I fear the only way to truly guarantee our safety is to overthrow the regime or bomb the place back into the stone age - both things we aren't going to do.
Iran is an apocalyptic nation and will likely trigger the Big One in time. All we can do is trust that God will not allow it.

Little Kim seems to have learned a valuable lesson sending his troops into Ukraine. A war with the West is unwinnable. The constitution of NK has been rewritten excluding all language of reunification with the South and a whole lot of anti-west rhetoric. Seems Kim's health is questionable and he is paving the way for his 13 yr old daughters eventual take over with a friendlier eye towards the west. The so-called Iranian Republic is nothing more then organized crime hiding behind a false religion.

Excellent points Mike. Yeah; Kim probably realizes his constant hostility towards us is a doomed strategy at this point and he wants to keep power in the family - something that won't happen if Mr. Trump gets his back up. I suspect what we did in Venezuela has Kim really spooked.

On Suffering
Timothy Birdnow
Vincent Thomas Ignatius posted this essay on Facebook about the value and great gift of suffering. I replied after in a comment more driven by my brain then my feelings, I assure you:
Vincent Thomas Ignatius
To add to the list of things we lose when we lose God....
On this list already is...
Morality
Science
Art
The value of life
Individual Liberty
Civility.
Today, I want to add something many wouldn't put on this list.
With the loss of God comes the loss of Legitimate Suffering.
Yes. Suffering and hardship.
One of the ideas both the Catholic and Orthodox churches get right is the value and need for legitimate suffering. It is also embraced in legitimate schools of Psychology, such as Jungian Psychology.
The key word here is LEGITIMATE.
It is legitimate suffering that draws us closer to God and closer to the unconscious aspects of who we are. It is necessary for mental/spiritual growth.
"Wait just a sec, Ignatius!" "I listen to Joel Osteen and Kenneth Copeland! My church and its Pastor says God wants us to prosper and be filled with joy! What nonsense is this that we must suffer?"
I guess we are greater than the Apostles, almost all of who died horrible deaths. I guess we are greater than the Blessed Virgin, who was told a sword will pierce her heart. I guess we are greater than the Master Himself, Jesus Christ," a man of suffering, familiar with pain."
It is this legitimate suffering that breaks the outer shell and releases the Spirit and Light of God. It is this suffering that paradoxically leads to the peace which passes all understanding.
In the words of Khalil Gibran in his excellent book, The Prophet.... "You shall be free indeed when your days are not without a care nor your nights without a want and a grief, But rather when these things girdle your life and yet your rise above them naked and unbound."
And....
"Much of your pain is self-chosen.
It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self.
Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility:
For his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen,
And the cup he brings, though it burn your lips, has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears."
With the loss of God comes the loss of legitimate suffering. We run from it. We seek a life of comfort, free of adversity. We see difficulty and pain as a curse, not a blessing. Our culture is full of people who avoid suffering as much as they avoid God.
We look at the phony lives of others, through our self deceiving eyes, comparing us to them. When suffering comes, we hide it, suppress it, avoid it. We, in our primal fear, will do anything to avoid it.
That anything includes illegitimate suffering. That is, the pain and difficulty we cause...the neurosis we embrace...which, funny enough, is far worse than the legitimate pain God sends our way. This pain destroys. God's suffering builds.
Offer your legitimate suffering to God. Contemplate on the suffering of the Christ, His Mother, and His Apostles.
There is more gold and joy hidden within this than you will find anywhere else, and through it, you will find yourself, and find God.
I replied:
Agreed. Anyone who has not endured legitimate suffering is not a whole, mature person but is trapped in adolescence. (I suspect that's a big part of what's wrong with the younger generation these days - life's been too easy. In fact it's been so easy they have had to invent problems for themselves because in their hearts they know they have missed out somehow. I believe this is why the whole trans thing caught on despite being completely insane.)
Suffering is a most unwelcome gift to most people (myself included) because, well, it SUCKS. But it is absolutely necessary to become the person you were meant to be. Without it you continue as a child.
So why did God set it up like this? Why not just make us perfect and be done with it?
I suspect it is to give us a special gift. He wanted us to be partners in our creation, to have free will to choose what is right and good or not (and face the consequences) and in the end we will be proud of ourselves for having stayed the course painful though it may have been. And just to make sure we got the point He Himself became one of us and went through much worse than we will. In life there are some good things but in the end we don't remember them - we remember the great things, and they always involved overcoming pain and adversity. There is a reason why most successful movies, books, and television programs are about crime or medical drama or other things involving people overcoming adversity and making great sacrifices; we know instinctively that is the case.
But it sure isn't fun when you are going through it.
Satan, on the other hand, wants us to suffer needlessly because he's, well, an a-hole and so he gets us to do things to avoid suffering that causes suffering. You are absolutely correct. While it's not rational to SEEK suffering (and there are some Christians who do, which I find odd) it is equally not rational to avoid it at all costs. (BTW this is one piece of evidence in support of the "God Hypothesis"; i a world that was driven entirely by random, mechanical forces we wouldn't be complaining about suffering as it would just be what it is. We wouldn't say "it's unfair!" It's only unfair because we know there is some kind of standard and we are suffering in spite of it, perhaps.)
But knowing this doesn't make it suck any less! But at least there is comfort in knowing you are profiting by it, much like Ebeneazor Scrooge accepted the Third ghost in a very different spirit than he did the first because he now understood this was an attempt to help him, not just an arbitrary thing.)
Great post! Oh, and by the way, a most timely one for me as I've been rather bitter since my wife and father died recently.
Oh, and I notice there are only three likes to this post; no surprise considering you are asking people to be grateful for misery. It's a tough sell but you did a great job of it!

A reference to 2 Corinthians 12:7 might have been in order, wherein St. Paul tells about the "thorn in his flesh" that he was given, and which he asked to have taken away, and which the Lord refused to take from him and told him why, and Paul accepted it, understanding the reason.

Of course Paul was still doing pretty well even with that thorn. It's much harder when you are NOT doing well and have said thorn Dana.

Great Danes? Starving the Elderly
Timothy Birdnow
I predicted this sort of thing a long time ago at American Thinker. Sadly I was right.
Seems the screwballs running Copenhagen are trying to restrict the amount of meat that senior citizens will be allowed to consume because, like, climate change and stuff.
That's just 2.8 ounces of meat per week - less than a single Big Mac contains (3.2 oz.)
Elderly people need protein - that's a medical fact.
There are a number of things that go into this. One is an obvious nod to the Vegan/Vegetarian wing of the whackos. Another thing is to get people to stop eating meat at all so as to create a world diet. Another reason is to stretch our food reserves; most leftists are neo-malthusians, having bought the lie of The Population Bomb and Paul Ehrlicht and it takes four pounds of grain to make one pound of beef, and these idiots believe we are going to have to start learning to eat no meat now before the population gets too high and we all have to eat grain (or bugs). And they also want to break our spirits. I am mindful of Oliver Twist when the Beetle berates Twist's foster parents for feeding him meat and thus failing to properly break his spirit. Oh, and one last thing; not feeding meat to the elderly will mean they will die earlier and thus reduce the surplus population.
Of course the stated reason is climate change and cow farts. The Left is obsessed with the digestive tract of barnyard animals.
The Left is at war with normal people and has waged it for generations now. Anything that brings joy they try to destroy. That is good strategic thinking, as Sun Tzu observed "seize that which the enemy holds dear". Remember, they are trying to break our wills. That's why the Left is so joyless; joy makes hardships bearable. The Left wants us so angry and frightened and unhappy we will turn to them to guide us out of the pit of despair they created for us. It's what Saul Alinsky meant when he admonished the radical to "rub raw the wounds of discontent." To rub those wounds raw one must first inflict those wounds. Happy people do not have wounds of discontent.
So this story is truly a model for Leftist tactics in so many ways. It is the intersection of all of their rotten and hateful beliefs rolled up together in a fetid bouillabaisse.
This is the paradise they have planned for us; a world where others make all our decisions for "the greater good" and where anything that give us joy or pleases us will be taken from us just to show they can take it. Leftism is truly the belief system of the demonic.

They need to copy China's plan and feed their people synthetic meat. No nutritional value just the sensation of eating real meat. China's people are the unwilling and unknowing participants of scientific experiments that one day will kill all of them and a whole lot of others.

I would take that American Thinker claim with a very large grain of salt. They make CBS 60 Minutes look good.

Yeah Mike; that'll show 'em! China may regret that some day.
Bill, you do know I used to write for American Thinker. Not sure why you insult me like this.
But this article was hardly the originator of the story. It was in the
New York Post and
MSN as well as it was featured at
Anthony Watts' site.
But by all means dismiss this story if that's what you want to do.

Climate Alarmists Tripping Over Their Own Genitalia
Timothy Birdnow
The Gang Green just can't stop from tripping over their own, uh, male members.
The paper, written by a man very aptly named Scambos, argued tha the loss of Antarctic ice was caused by an upwelling of waters around the continent plus an increase in war air circulation and that these were evidence of climate change. Only a funny thing happened - the Antarcic ice recovered and then some from a summer low.
Nothing to do with the phase change from La Nina to El Nino, was it>
At any rate the new media ballyhood the paper but failed to mention the recovery which embarrassed the heck out of Scam bro.
One commenter on the article argued the long term trend is negative but that is odd since it is known Antarctica has been GAINING ice mass since the beginning of this decade
(Kolbe et al.)
Someone kindly explain to me how the models can be so wrong and we can have six years of ice growth when the planet's carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere have increased? There is absolutely nothing in the models that can explain this and it was entirely unforeseen. How is Big Science dealing with it? By ignoring it and doubling down on their climate change stupidity.
And remember, we only have a few decades of observation of Antarctica to extrapolate from We don't know half of what Big Science claims we do.

Baltimore Going Down Same Path as St. Louis
Timothy Birdnow
When I was growing up I lived in a suburb that shared a border with the City of St. Louis. Many of the people in my neighborhood had fled an area called Walnut Park because of rising crime. One friend's family left after his sister - then a small girl - got beaten up for no good reason. Walnut Park because a cesspool of crime and decay and it now looks like a bombed out neighborhood in some Third World hellhole.
My old neighborhood has not gotten THAT bad yet but it started really going down when a shopping mall just two blocks away because a major bus hub. Suddenly the people who destroyed Walnut Park could come to our neighborhood easily and wreck havoc on a bunch of new pigeons.
My grandparents - who lived across the street from us - were mugged several times and that right in front of their own home as they were followed. Lots of such crimes occurred.
That neighborhood emptied out fast and the real bad guys moved on to greener pastures before the neighborhood became a total cesspool.
But that doesn't mean it's not bad; my late father was coming home from the pharmacy just a couple of blocks away and was between two cars in a shootout. He didn't get hurt but he sure could have.
The point is this is what liberal programs wrought; the source of infection was the City of St. Louis, which the Democrats have owned forever, or nearly so. (The last Republican mayor left office in 1948 and I don't believe a single Republican has held any kind of office since then. Republicans run but spend zero money and run just anybody who volunteers. The volunteers just want to put on their resume' they were candidates for mayor in a major metropolitan area; they have no interest in actually winning.) St. Louis did exactly what these Baltimore suburbanites are suffering now.
Is it any wonder St. Louis had the massive explosion known as Ferguson? While Ferguson was mostly triggered by crime from refugees from the historically black Kinloch (which the CITY largely tore down to build new runways for the city-owned Lambert Field airport) the fact is it has been city policy for decades to move black people, and especially the poor black folks, north while they used to shield themselves in their German and Irish and Italian enclaves on the south side. The white people in St. Louis all voted Democrat because their labor unions told them to and they were protected from the crime that festered in the ghettos to the north.
That's not the case anymore and St. Louis keeps shrinking as people from all races seek to find safety. South St. Louis is now entirely mixed race, with some traditionally white areas like Dutchtown being ghetto to the core. St. Louis is dying and there are now increasing calls for the city to merge with St. Louis County. St. Louis seceded from St. Louis County in the late nineteenth century to avoid carrying the tax burden for farm communities and Kinloch. Now they want back in because they have run off the tax base.
Whether the anschluss happens or not is immaterial at this point; St. Louis County now resembles in no small part the city twenty years ago and is following the same trajectory. I suppose the whole STL county will then try to merge with St. Charles county and start the process over again.
Liberalism doesn't create or preserve - it destroys one way or another. It's like a plague of locusts, consume everything then move on.
So what is happening in Baltimore makes perfect sense to me. I lived through it here in "the 'Lou".

Rising Christaphobia
Timothy Birdnow
Is Christianity the true religion? Apparently the Hindus understand that it is - which is why they are attacking and driving Christians out. Why not let them preach Christianity and let people make up their own minds? Christians do not commit acts of terrorism or whatnot but rather build schools and hospitals and the like.
[linj=https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2026/05/mob-attacks-indian-pastor-family-villagers-try-drive/]Mob Attacks Indian Pastor and His Family as Villagers Try to Drive Him Away from Home
From the article:
A pair of men in central India attacked a local pastor and his family, attempting to drive them from their home because of their Christian faith.
Pastor Motu Sodi, who lives in Chhattisgarh state’s Sukma District, was approached by a mob on April 13 and 14 at his home, where his church also gathers, according to a May 1 report from Morning Star News.
Sodi was then accused of luring villagers away from their tribal religion and illegitimately converting them to Christianity.
The two men, who were part of the mob, then allegedly attacked Sodi, as well as his wife, his sister who is not a Christian, and his niece.
So what are these Indians so afraid of? Could it be they sense deep down that this alien faith may be correct and theirs is false?
Christianity, like Judaism before, has always been hated with little cause. It more than anything is proof of the rightness of Christianity. Many were converted during Roman times by seeing the absolute faith of the Church Fathers, most of whom wound up being crucified or beheaded or burned at the stake yet suffered these tribulations gladly.
And persecutions are rising all over the world now that we no longer defend Christianity (the Western World has gotten too cool for God and we're paying the price). Whole communities of Christians are being slaughtered in Nigeria. Ditto in many Islamic countries (Islam was a false imitation of Christianity and hates Christianity out of pure jealousy since Christianity and Judaism both show them up). The Communists have all hated Christ and His Church and persecution of Christians is par for the course with them. China is a major offender. Now we are seeing rising Christaphobia in India, a place always known as relatively tolerant of religious beliefs (except between Muslims and Hindus, both of whom have fought bitterly over the years to take and keep their country.)
The two men who did the actual beating used "sticks" aka clubs to beat the victims. One woman suffered a nasty head injury while the man suffered internal bleeding.
We are returning to the times of the ancients. A.ll the progress made during the Christian era is being lost because Christians no longer fight for our faith and secularization has led our governments to no longer concern themselves with matters like decency or civility. We are seeing rising violence, rising sodomy, rising deviancy of all kinds, and with those is a rising hatred and dividing into groups set against all others.
This was inevitable and the big push for "multiculturalism" divided the whole world. The multiculturalism movement was big when I was in college in the eighties and I remember it then; it was not about being tolerant towards other cultures but about mixing them all together and then letting people of radically different cultures occupy the same space. This article is proof that doesn't work but theu did it anyway. I remember reading essays about how in the future we would have communities that would be chosen by people with no proximity to each other but based rather on creed and shared beliefs. This sounded good, especially with the rise of the internet, but in the end it was destined to lead to violence and destruction because you were just reinforcing terrible ideas and feelings of alienation by the groups that huddled together. An "us verses them" philosophy was guaranteed to arise. It's no different than a cult - like the Branch Davidians or Jim Jones' crazy cult. We now have a whole world of cultists and of course ALL of them are angry with Christianity and Judaism because it was these two religions that promoted standards of behavior and beliefs that these groups formed out of a rejection of those very things.
Doing your own thing leads to a pathology many times if your own thing is governed by your own will and not the eternal truths.
As for Hinduism it is a beautiful if false religion and one far preferable than the imperialistic Islam that is the main competitor in the Subcontinent but it has pathology of it's own. For one thing you don't want to mess with another's karma, so acts of charity and mercy tend to be few. That was the reason Mother Theresa of Calcutta was in India. She wasn't there to convert people but to simply show Christ's love by rescuing the dying untouchable's who were generally left to die alone in the streets so as not to mess up their karma. There were always dead bodies to be found on the streets of Calcutta because nobody wanted to even touch them - only untouchables could do so. Mother Theresa took these people in while sick and offered them hospice, caring for them until they passed away with a modicum of dignity.
(For the record, the reason Mother Theresa was sainted so early was that in her private diary she complained bitterly to God for dumping this on her and making her waste her life nursing dying untouchables. But she did her duty anyway and accepted this as God's will even though she wished she had had a much different life. It was that obedience to God despite her doubts and unhappiness with what He asked of her that told the Church she was worthy of early sainthood.)
At any rate we see rising ancientism in this world - tribalism returning, mystery religions rising which includes scientism, sexual deviancy of every imaginable stripe, hatred and vengeance being common with forgiveness disappearing, etc. This is just one more brick in the vast Great Wall of Satan.

ACLU Harassment
Timothy Birdnow
These Leftists never quit.
Having just lost in the full 5th Circuit they are now going to a different court to try to impose their will on the Lone Star state.
The ACLU - which has no standing - is filing a class action lawsuit (who has standing here? Illegals certainly do not) in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas Austin Division i.e. a friendly court that will give them the injunction they seek. Austin may as well be San Francisco or Boston.
This nonsense has to stop; the Left - funded ny billonaires like George Soros - just keeps plugging away in court until they find a judge who sides with them and they do so at the expense of the American People. There is a much larger class - the public - that wants not only an end to illegal immigration but to kick out the trespassing scofflaws. Who is representing them? Would the courts allow them to sue as a class?
From the article:
SB 4 "is one of the most extreme anti-immigrant laws ever passed by any state legislature in the country” and will "separate families and directly lead to racial profiling,” the ACLU argues.
It will also "transform our police and judges into immigration agents – threatening neighbors who have families here, who have lived here for years, even those who have legal status,” ACLU of Texas legal director Adriana Piñon said. "Immigration enforcement is exclusively the federal government's arena, and no state has ever claimed the power Texas threatens to wield here. We are taking this back to court to defend our Texas communities.”
end
This Adriana Pinon person glosses over the little niggling detail that these are people who ARE NOT HERE LEGALLY and have no right to expect to be protected from ICE or from the Great State of Texas. Their length of residency is immaterial and in fact being here a long time means they have actually broken the law longer.
As for this "immigration enforcement is exclusively the federal government's arena" is a fine theory but where in the Constitution does it say states may NOT enforce their own borders? I dare this puta to show me where it is written in the U.S. Constitution.
This should have been tossed. Actually the Fifth Circuit should have dismissed the original suit with prejudice but they didn't because, as always, the ACLU judge shopped and got a more favorable court than they would have had otherwise. As now.
Nick Shirley needs to investigate the ACLU. For decades they have been flush with cash to make mischief and I am certain there are as many skeletons in their closet as the Southern Poverty Law Center had. Leftists are always corrupt.
